Lenovo latest tablet features an Intel Bay Trail-T processor
Lenovo is expanding its reach into the Windows 8.x tablet arena with the introduction of the new Miix2. The Miix2 is an 8.1” tablet that runs Windows 8.1.
Although the idea of a compact, 8.1” tablet running a full-blown version of Windows is admirable, one must also realize that the screen resolution is “only” 1280x800. With that said, Lenovo says that the display features a 178-degree viewing angle and features 10-point multi-touch.
When it comes to processing power, the Miix2 features an Intel Bay Trail-T quad-core processor paired with integrated seventh generation Intel HD Graphics. Storage duties are handled by either 32GB or 64GB of onboard eMMC storage. This, however, can be expanded thanks to an included microSD slot.
Other features include Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11n, 2MP front-facing camera, and a 5MP rear camera.
The tablet measures 5.18” x 8.48” x 0.32”, weighs just 0.77 pounds, and has up to seven hours of battery life.
The Miix2 will start at $299 for the 32GB version; the 64GB model will set you back $349. Lenovo is also selling a cover with an include stylus pen for $20. The tablet and its accessories will be available later this month.
Is it a car? Is it a plane? Er, no - it's a hovercraft. Called the Volkswagen Aqua this is one young Chinese designer's interpretation of an off-road vehicle for the future. Hovercraft concepts have been a dime a dozen over the years, so why not add another one to the long list of vehicles we wish will one day make it to the assembly line? Created by Chinese industrial designer Yuhan Zhang, the Volkswagen Aqua Hovercraft concept would certainly be a dream come true.
The 21 year old opted for a hybrid setup that sees the main engine powered by a hydrogen fuel cell, while the fans at the end of vehicle controlling the thrust and steering system are powered by individual electric motors. The Volkswagen hovercraft was designed specifically to tackle all of the varying landscapes found throughout China from roads and rivers to snow and sand.
A Google Street View car recently went on a hit-and-run spree in Indonesia, only stopping after crashing into a truck.
The Google Street View car, which was driven by an unnamed Indonesian man, was involved in three vehicle accidents on Wednesday. He first hit a minivan just outside of Jakarta in the Bogor region, according to AFP.
The Google Street View driver allegedly stopped after this first incident, and went with the minivan driver to an auto repair shop to have the damages looked at. But the Google driver panicked over the potential cost of such repairs, and fled the scene.
The minivan driver followed the Google car for approximately 3km before the Street View vehicle hit yet another minivan. The Google car didn't stop after the second hit. Instead, he continued on until he finally crashed into a parked truck. This was the third and final hit in the chase.
The front of the Google vehicle was damaged after the three hits, and the windshield had been smashed in.
"We take the safety of our Street View operations very seriously, and though we're glad everyone is OK and that no serious injuries were reported, we're sorry for any damage caused," said Google in a statement.
This isn't the first time a Google Street View car has gotten into trouble. Back in January of this year, one of the vehicle's was blamed for hitting a donkey in India.
Rockstar Games has always held fast to its release schedules. With the impending launch of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, the studio has no reason to change its formula.
When Rockstar Games released Grand Theft Auto IV for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in April of 2008, it waited roughly seven months to bring the title to PC. Now, as the fifth installment in the series hits store shelves Tuesday, the developer famous for keeping its lips sealed about studio secrets has no reason to change up that formula -- no matter how many signatures theballooning Change.org petition garners.
The number of fans clamoring for a PC version of GTA V on the petition site stands at nearly 420,000 as of this story's publication. The number of signatures will only keep expanding as the game racks up more impressive reviews to bolster the ever-powerful Metacritic score that many gamers use, often unjustly, to direct their game purchases. GTA V holds the title of second-highest-ever rated game on the review aggregator, behind GTA IV.
It's also not as if Rockstar is surprising anyone with this strategy, given that it's done this in the past with GTA IV and San Andreas. The studio employs a console-first, PC-later approach to its flagship series. GTA is a console-oriented series, designed for controllers and meant to be experienced on console hardware. That's the company's priority and it's likely to always be, especially given that Xbox One and PS4 versions will come to market probably before a PC version does. But it is not good business for Rockstar to give in to player demands this early, pure and simple. GTA V is already being called the perfect farewell to the most successful video game console generation in history, and no amount of disgruntled PC fans will keep it from earning that mantle through sales.
It's about time Apple fans had a new object of desire, as the Android competition has been getting much stronger with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One and Sony Xperia Z piling on the pressure. Read on to see how Apple has answered the critics.
iPhone 5S design
As expected, the new handset will be available in a choice of "space grey", "silver" or "gold" colours, retaining the same glass and aluminium body from the iPhone 5 except with some aluminium edging that gives it that little extra bit of bling.
The 4in display remains unchanged and Apple has stuck with a "Retina-class" 1,136x640 resolution panel. This is unsurprising, seeing as it's already impossible to spot the individual pixels from an average viewing distance, but will still come as a disappointment for anyone hoping to watch Full HD video (or even 720p content) natively on their morning commute.
The power button is still at the top, next to a 3.5mm audio jack. The volume buttons and mute switch are still on the side and the Lightning connector is still found at the bottom - all in all a very similar looking handset to the iPhone 5.
The only new physical addition to the iPhone 5S is the TouchID ring built into the home button. This silver ring acts as a fingerprint reader for enhanced security. It can read in any orientation and scans below the epidermal skin layers. To avoid scratches, the home button is now made from sapphire crystal.

The rear camera sensor is around 15% larger than the outgoing model, and uses 1.5 micron pixels for improved low-light shooting. The f/2.2 aperture is larger too, and is paired with a twin-LED flash for even more light when shooting in dark conditions. Apple calls it "True Tone", with one cool white flash and a second warmer amber LED that automatically adjusts depending on lighting conditions for the best picture. Image stabilisation and best shot selection are both automatic. There's also a burst shot mode and 120fps slow motion video recording at 720p, along with the new filters found in iOS7.
iPhone 5S performance
Inside, Apple has upgraded the A6 processor found in the iPhone 5 to an A7 CPU. It's a 64-bit chip, to take advantage of the 64-bit version of iOS 7 it will run. It should be up to 40x faster in terms of CPU performance and 56x faster for GPU tasks than the original iPhone, and can run OpenGL 3.0 games like the 2013 Nexus 7.
It is paired with an M7 Motion Coprocessor, which handles accelerometer, compass and gyroscope duties. It can tell whether you're walking, driving or stationary, and app developers will be able to tap into it in combination with GPS. Despite the presence of two processors, it should still manage 10 hours of 3G or 4G browsing, or up to 250 hours of standby on a single charge.
It also supports global LTE bands, apparently more than any other smartphone in the world, so will have no trouble working on 4G networks in every country it launches in - including here in the UK, where you'll have a choice of EE, Vodafoneand O2.
iOS 7
The iPhone 5S will launch with iOS 7, the latest version of Apple's mobile operating system. It's a major visual departure for the software, with a pastel colour scheme, flattened icons and no more skeuomorphic elements (the way the notes app looked like real lined paper).
Multitasking has been improved so apps update through push notifications, not just when you switch back to them from other apps. Notification Sync will please owners of multiple iOS devices, as swiping a message away from an iPhone 5S will also dismiss it from an iPad.
The redesigned Notification Center now lets you scroll through messages, emails, tweets and other notifications in a long list. Tabs separate updates into Today, All and Missed, so you don't need to worry about things falling through the cracks.
The major addition is Control Center , which puts common settings and toggles such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Flight mode and brightness in one location. A swipe from the bottom of the screen brings up the menu, which also includes a flashlight, music playback controls, a camera shortcut and a calculator. All five iWork apps will be free to download too.
Finally, AirDrop shares whatever you're currently doing to any nearby iOS 7 device using Wi-Fi. Tapping the AirDrop icon shows who is in the vicinity, and selecting them automatically shares.
where to buy the iPhone 5s The iPhone 5s isn't available to pre-order in the UK until the 20th of September, but when it does you'll be able to get one directly from Apple SIM-free, or from most of the major UK networks on a contract. Direct from Apple, the 16GB iPhone 5s will cost £549, the 32GB version £629 and the 64GB version £709.
We've listed network prices for the 16GB model, so expect to pay a higher upfront fee for the 32GB version.
EE is currently asking customers to register their interest in the iPhone 5s, which will go on sale from the 20th. A £150 up front fee will get you the 16GB model on a £36 monthly contract, which includes 1.5GB of data, unlimited minutes and unlimited texts. The most expensive £46 contract includes 10GB of data, but still requires a £50 down payment for the handset. It will also be available on the theOrange and T-Mobile 3G networks, although prices still have yet to be announced.
O2 has created a listing for the iPhone 5s in Gold on its website, and although you can't yet put in your order you can see what tariffs are available. Due to the unique nature of how the Refresh tariff works, you'll have to pay £600 up font to avoid paying a monthly charge for the phone – some £50 more than Apple charges for a SIM-free model. You'll then have to pay £17 per month for unlimited minutes, unlimited texts and 1GB of 3G data. For a 4G plan, expect to pay £22 per month for the same allowance.
Now here's the next big thing after the blu-ray disk .General Electric has revealed that it’s created a 500GB optical disk. That’s 10 times the capacity of a Blu-ray disc, and enough room for the content from almost 60 movie DVDs.
The big problem with such a huge disk is that it appears to be a case of producing something just because you can, rather than because there is any need.
Right now, the technology is simply at the stage where it can be proven to work in a lab setting. It’s likely to be at least two to three years before it can be refined to be produced at a commercially viable price.
Whereas Blu-ray is simply a more efficient use of the same technique used in DVDs (a series of dimples in the disk surface read by a laser), the General Electric system uses holograms, effectively turning the data storage area into three dimensions. The firm says it has found a way to make smaller holograms almost 200 times more reflective, thus increasing the number which can fit on a usable disc.
At the moment there only seem three possible mass-market uses for a disk with such a large capacity, all with notable drawbacks:
Firms could use them to produce movie disks with massively increased resolutions and sound quality. The problem there is that these improvements would likely be far past the point where much appreciable benefit could be noticed on existing audio-visual equipment.
They could be used for selling movie disks with much more content on. While this could have some uses – such as putting a full season of an HD television series on a single disk – most customers aren’t likely to pay the price studios would want to charge for so much content in a single purchase.
They could also be used as a home recording system, allowing users to store hundreds of hours of video, or even thousands upon thousands of music files. That might be a useful space saver for people with large collections, but anyone who’s ever had a CD get scratched or a recordable DVD fail will likely be very wary of having the potential to lose so much content in a single swoop.
Instead GE will initially concentrate on specialist uses such as hospitals which need to store extremely detailed brain scan data, or movie studios which want to minimize archive space.

Hola friends ! at present there are plenty of apps for mobile.but most of the people think that it cannot be played on PC.yes !yes! you can .for that you need to follow some easy steps and download a small software. here it is:
Parallel processing simply is just using multiple no. of processors at the same time so as to increase the processing speed.
Lets go deeper.....
The simultaneous use of more than one CPU or processor core to execute a program or multiple computational threads. Ideally, parallel processing makes programs run faster because there are more engines (CPUs or Cores) running it. In practice, it is often difficult to divide a program in such a way that separate CPUs or cores can execute different portions without interfering with each other. Most computers have just one CPU, but some models have several, and multi-core processor chips are becoming the norm. There are even computers with thousands of CPUs.
With single-CPU, single-core computers, it is possible to perform parallel processing by connecting the computers in a network. However, this type of parallel processing requires very sophisticated software called distributed processing software.
Note that parallelism differs from concurrency. Concurrency is a term used in the operating systems and databases communities which refers to the property of a system in which multiple tasks remain logically active and make progress at the same time by interleaving the execution order of the tasks and thereby creating an illusion of simultaneously executing instructions.Parallelism, on the other hand, is a term typically used by the supercomputing community to describe executions that physically execute simultaneously with the goal of solving a problem in less time or solving a larger problem in the same time. Parallelism exploits concurrency.
Parallel processing is also called parallel computing. In the quest of cheaper computing alternatives parallel processing provides a viable option. The idle time of processor cycles across network can be used effectively by sophisticated distributed computing software. The term parallel processing is used to represent a large class of techniques which are used to provide simultaneous data processing tasks for the purpose of increasing the computational speed of a computer system.
